I'd like to start the Lost Castle sidequest in Goldenleaf. I know that in order to start the sidequest, i have to enter the gym. But the gym is locked. I currently have 9 gym badges, and have fought the Rift Chandalure in the amethyst caves.

Grant two allies +0/+4 so two potential fated procs and make your Pantheon harder to kill. Plus Spellshield and Overwhelm to wipe out those small pesky units that are being spammed in Kennen and Ahri decks.

2021.12.08 18:24 BackyardBuddhaGaming Starshell Rework

I would love it if Starshell had two firing modes, the second making it more than just a meme and actually viable.
Mode 1: Focused
Fires and operates as it does currently.
Mode 2: Splash
This mode fires an explosive type round which detonates and sends sparks flying all over.
These sparks do no damage but set everything on fire in a large radius, including dead bodies.
Like a portable lantern mortar with an even greater area of effect.
For balancing, make it more expensive and/or have less ammunition if this idea is too OP.
I think this would be a fun way to make Starshell not just a meme whilst still having a place for Dragon’s Breath as DB can kill you up close, burns a bar off and sets you on fire (plus, hopefully it gets buffed even more.)
This wouldn’t compete for DB, it would be its own fun thing altogether.

2021.12.08 18:24 kolter00 [Advice] How to overcome complacency/self-sabotage

I spent years going through the cycle of achieving whatever goal I set out to do, and then immediately falling back into old habits (sometimes even deeper than before). For a long time I thought maybe it was just a personality trait that I had to deal with, or maybe this is just how everyone is and I would have to find a way to work it to my advantage. Upon working through this issue and finding ways to hack motivation, discipline, and productivity, I've learned that it is NOT a fixed personality trait and complacency/self-sabotage are 100% a mental game.
Self-sabotage is a process of the ego, it's a kind of defense mechanism in a way, and complacency is a mindset that's also a process of the ego. Both are very related to the ego, feeling like you're either too good or not good enough, or sometimes both at the same time which can be really confusing because you'll have these 2 contradictory feelings that are both detrimental to your success in whatever you're trying to do.
Both self-sabotage and complacency are intertwined so I want to go over both, how they relate, and hopefully say something in a way that changes your perspective and lets you see these mindsets for what they are — your egos way to avoid failure.

  1. Self-Sabotage
Self-sabotage has been HUGE in my life. It seemed that anytime I did anything (business, fitness, relationships, etc), if I saw any bit of success I would consciously do something to make the process more difficult or give up on it altogether. I knew I wanted to be successful, but something inside wouldn't let me — even if I was already seeing some success. Super frustrating place to be in and I'm sure you can relate, but it came to a point where I had to really sit and think about why this kept happening regardless of what I was trying to do, and it came down to some kind of imposter syndrome mixed with inadequacy.
If you don't know what imposter syndrome is, it's basically feeling like a fraud. Doubting your abilities in any given skill or area of life, and questioning whether you're worthy of achieving anything. I felt this constantly and when mixed with the feeling of inadequacy — just feeling uneducated, unqualified, inexperienced, etc. — I would always just give up or do something to cause myself to fail. That made it my fault, and that made my failures easier to justify and further solidified my feelings of inadequacy.
Again, self-sabotage is a way for your ego to avoid failure. By stopping short of your potential, you never have to face LEGITIMATE failure. You never have to reach a point where you could actually fail, because you failed yourself before that point ever came. Staying where you are and where you know you will be "okay" is comfortable, but we all know being comfortable means being stagnant. You do not grow if you stay in your comfort zone, which inherently means you don't fail if you stay in your comfort zone. GROWTH IS SYNONYMOUS WITH FAILURE, BUT ALSO A PREREQUESITE TO SUCCESS.
That's the first mindset I want to try to get across to you, and something I had to really internalize and understand before I could start making real progress toward any goal I had. When you do something out of the ordinary for yourself — something you haven't yet solidified for yourself in your self-image — you're going to fail. You're going to have doubts. You're going to feel inadequate. You're going to feel like an "imposter".
Unfortunately, there's no easy fix for this, at least none that I have found. I had to stick it out. Whenever I felt these feelings of inadequacy or noticed myself start to put in less effort or put my foot on the brakes, I pushed harder. I did more of the exact thing that my brain was telling me not to do. The ONLY thing that helped was leveling up in terms of mindfulness because I could start to recognize when that side of myself was taking over, but otherwise it came down to understanding what was going on and pushing past any of those feelings.
The base of discipline is doing what you know needs to be done even when you don't feel like it or some excuse has popped into your head or anything like that, and to do that you have to value responsibility and your mind as opposed to comfort and your feelings. ****Again, the main thing that helped with this for me was practicing mindfulness. Recognizing when my brain has trailed off and bringing my attention back to the present moment. You can practice when you do dishes, when you're in the shower, when you're taking out the trash, getting groceries, any mundane task that you usually do without a second thought or more literally you do with way too many thoughts.
  1. Complacency
Complacency is the other side of the same coin. Instead of imposter syndrome and feelings of inadequacy, it's more so satisfaction and contentedness. You feel satisfied with whatever you've achieved, so what's the point in doing more? Why continue? This can be extremely confusing especially when you're very clearly NOT okay with where you're at in life, but for some reason you have this feeling that everything is fine.
Again, this is your egos way of avoiding failure. If you're fine with where you're at, you don't need to keep trying at anything, and you can't fail. You stay comfortable. You cease to grow. The outcome of complacency and self-sabotage are the same, but the way you arrive at the mindsets are complete opposites.
For me, one good way break through complacency was through something I call tree goals. You have your trunk (the main, big goal), you have your branches (the smaller goals that lead to the big goal), and the leaves (the small actions you must take on a day to day or week to week basis to achieve the small goals, which will lead to achieving the big goal). If you don't have your leaves, your tree isn't necessarily dead — it's still alive in your mind — but it's dormant. Inactive.
Complacency is tough because it means that part of you (the ego) is telling you you've done good enough and you don't need to continue, but another part of you (you) knows you have to keep moving forward. Keeping your goals and the actions needed to achieve said goals front of mind can really help with complacency, but again it really came down to honesty and mindfulness.
I had to be honest with myself in that I was NOT content with where I was at because I still had things I wanted to do or try, and I had to stay mindful of the moments when those complacent thoughts were trying to take over or derail my goals. Coupling mindfulness with keeping my goals front and center was the best way for me to overcome feelings of complacency and contentedness.
It's no coincidence that because both self-sabotage and complacency lead to the same place — stagnancy & comfort — you can work through both with the same mindset and practices. Setting up your main goal, breaking it down into small goals, and then figuring out daily or weekly actions that need to be completed to achieve them while staying mindful of your thoughts and where those thoughts are coming from was the best way for me to be able to break this cycle of complacency and self-sabotage, and if you do end up trying it I hope it works for you too.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read this post, I hope I changed some perspective, made you think, or helped you in some way, if I did help you & you want to help me please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel where I upload videos about self-improvement, discipline, and productivity. Go ahead and leave a comment if you want clarification on something I might've said or you just have any questions, I'm definitely down to have a conversation about this. Take care

2021.12.08 18:24 vurto Is it possible to have progressive lenses for computer and distance?

From what I've read, and I could be way off here cos I'm not familiar with them, computer lenses seem to work for near and intermediate distances.
Can I get a pair for looking at the computer and driving?
Or is it possible to have a larger intermediate zone and keeping the distance and near zones smaller?
My laptop screen is 17–18" away when propped on my knees. At this distance words are looking blurry round the edges and makes me feel very unfocused. I have to tilt my head to look through the bottom of my glasses.
On my lap the laptop screen is about 22" away. Words are slightly easier when I look straight through my glasses but not as good as compared to looking in the distance with the glasses.
I sit about 30" from my monitor. Kinda similar to reading with a screen on my laptop, it just feels like it could be better.
Looking through the bottom of the lenses at my phone, everything is sharp.
Looking in the distance, crystal sharp, perfect.
I would like the same experience when looking at the computer, and don't mind forgoing the near zone. I feel like in my day-to-day, I'm either looking at the computer or walking around or driving.
I've gone about easily without glasses too so my prescription isn't too heavy.
I was put on progressive after I said my eyes seem to take a longer time focusing when I go from looking at the TV to looking at my laptop.
My current lenses are for glass size: 45-22-140. Maybe these are too narrow height-wise and my intermediate zone is too small?
I have another pair of glasses I want to update the prescription on, they're larger at size 51-23-145-45 so I'm doing a bit more research hoping I will have a better screen reading experience. Maybe the zones will work out better automatically cos these glasses are larger, and I don't have to change a thing?
I've worn progressives for about 6 years and tbh I've never really felt comfortable in them. I almost wish they had distinct zones I know where to look through, I feel like I'm guessing half the time and I can never find the sweet spot except for near and far. But my eyes get tired and strained from the computer which I think is when I need them most. But I also don't want to switch to single vision just for the computer, which led me to wondering if I can get progressives for intermediate and far distances.
